Tomintoul 18-year-old Sauternes wine cask finish was distilled in 2002 and matured intentionally in ex-Bourbon American oak casks before being finished in French oak casks which previously contained Sauternes wine from Chateau Piada to add depth and complexity with tropical fruits butter toffee marmalade and spice.
Tasting notes
Nose: tangy and Aromatic with notes of marmalade Heather honey stone fruits and chantilly cream
Palate: Luscious layer of tropical fruits Lemmon curd toasted almond and orange zest balanced with Oaky tannins, and cake spices
Finish: roasted pecan butter toffee and candied peels fading into a warming toasted oak linger
