Vermouth

Vermouth is a type of fortified wine that’s flavored with a variety of botanicals, including herbs, spices, and roots. Originating in Italy and France, vermouth is traditionally used as an aperitif or as a key ingredient in classic cocktails like the Martini, Manhattan, and Negroni. There are several styles—dry, sweet (red), bianco (white), and others—each offering unique flavor profiles ranging from crisp and bitter to rich and aromatic. Vermouth is made by adding a distilled spirit (usually grape brandy) to wine, along with the botanical blend, and then aging the mixture to develop depth and complexity.
