Psagot Rose

Psagot's Rose is a blend of red grape varietals. The grapes are harvested from vineyards located in the Northern Jerusalem Mountains at a height of 700 meters. Some initial activity blows off, showing then off-dry cherries with acid in appropriate balance with strong fruit flavors. This is more full-bodied and meant for more full-bodied chicken dishes or fatty fish like salmon. Color is in the middle of the spectrum for Rosés. Really good, long finish. The winemaker is known for his attention to balance and it shows here. I got the country right. 414 cases available. (Jay Buchsbaum) The deeper color here, the nose shows aromas of ripe tropical fruit and black cherry with hints of grapefruit. Medium-plus body with a touch of fizziness that blows off after a few minutes in the glass. The palate features fresh watermelon, pink grapefruit, and cherry pie with nice minerality as well as bracing acidity and a fairly long finish.
